PIERRE SRL THE ITALIAN ORGANIC PRODUCTS MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY Pierre srl. with manufacturing facilities in Galatina - Lecce Italy, and social capital €2.300.000 is a private company that develops high technology industrial innovation manufacturing processes. Pierre srl was founded in 1990 and it conducts researches and development systems in the extraction of natural antioxidants with supercritical fluids. It is located in Galatina (Lecce, Italy) and has a plant of 20,000 m2 including production sites, research, development, quality assurance, laboratories, offices and green areas. In the last decade, the Company has been investing in biotechnology R&D, in particular in the extraction methods of natural antioxidants by sub and supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) instead of using chemical solvents. |

SUPERCRITICAL CARBON DIOXIDE (SC-CO2) MANUFACTURING PROCESS our extraction process allows to obtain solvent-free natural products with the highest standards in terms of quality. Furthermore, this technology is risk less for humans and environmentally friendly. PIERRE INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH ACTIVITIES our projects have been developed in collaboration with important research institutes, such as the Università del Salento (Department of Biological and Environmental Science and Technology - Di.S.Te.B.A. - Laboratories of Botany and Cellular Plant Biology; Department Innovation Engineering - Laboratory of General and Inorganic Chemistry) and the CNR ISPA - Institutes of of Science and Food Production of Bari and Lecce. This technology allows to extract active principles from solid and liquid matrices and to separate several fraction from the extracts.

THE MAIN SOURCE OF LYCOPENE and their derivatives are the main natural source of
lycopene giving approximately 85% of all lycopene in the human body. The
amount of lycopene in tomatoes depends the quality of fruit, the
environment and cultivation procedures. Usually, the content of lycopene
in red-ripe tomatoes is 30-80 mg/kg of fresh product, but it could be
more than 150-300 mg/kg in some selected species obtained by traditional
hybridization techniques. |
